Chris Ryan is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in the judicial system. A graduate of the University of Wyoming College of Law, Chris has dedicated his career to upholding the law and advocating for justice. His tenure as a prosecutor has equipped him with the skills and insights necessary to serve as Coroner. Chris is passionate about ensuring transparency and accountability in all investigations, and he is committed to fostering trust within the community.
The Coroner is responsible for investigations of death in Eagle County, some alongside law enforcement and some leading a team of dedicated Deputy Coroners. Chris has spent his career working with law enforcement and has participated in dozens of death investigations.
Chris Ryan's path to running for Coroner of Eagle County is deeply rooted in his personal experiences and professional dedication to serving his community. Growing up in a family that valued public service, Chris was involved extensively with the Boy Scouts of America, and earned his Eagle Scout. His career as a prosecutor and attorney has equipped him with a profound understanding of the legal and medical intricacies involved in the role of a Coroner. Chris has extensive experience working with victims and their families in the most trying times. Chris knows first hand how important compassion and respect go in overwhelming times.

When not hard at work, Chris is an avid fly fisherman and outdoorsman. This valley has the most beautiful spaces Colorado has to offer. This brings people from all over the world to our home, and tragically those visits sometimes end with the involvement of the Coroner. Chris is strongly prepared for the 24/7 on-call duty of Coroner, and prepared to make all who need the Coroner, whether from Eagle County or across the nation, feel they are treated with dignity and assisted to the best of his ability.
